Are you contractors?
No. Duncan's Creative Kitchens is a kitchen design studio, but we work closely with our Remodeling Partners (contractors, electricians, plumbers, etc.) to ensure your project runs smoothly and efficiently.
Do I have to work with your Remodeling Partners?
No. We have experience with our Remodeling Partners, that’s why we feel comfortable recommending them. Our criteria are based on reliability, service, and accuracy. We can certainly work with different licensed professional that you are already comfortable with.
I have trouble visualizing what isn’t there. Can you help me?
Yes. Part of our process is to assemble easy-to-understand designs and samples, as well as the technical drawings you will need to make decisions for your project.
Do you have financing available?
No, but we will be happy to assist you in securing financing in any way we are able.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes. We currently accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
Can you match my existing cabinets?
It Depends. If you already have cabinetry from one of the manufacturers we handle, the wood species and stain should be available. (see the list of our preferred vendors). Otherwise, it’s like trying to match RCA parts to your Sony television.
This is my second home. Can you handle everything while I’m away?
Yes. Be assured that our Stressless Remodeling Service can handle all of your needs – even when you are thousands of miles away.
Do you manufacture your cabinets?
No. We handle various cabinetry lines that are manufactured for us across the United States.
My kitchen is very small. Can you expand it into another room?
The simple answer to a complicated question is Yes. Many times, space can be annexed from adjoining rooms. However, the type of wall involved may require further design expertise, such as an architect. A home consultation should be able to answer this question.
Do you reface cabinets?
No. Refacing is a specialty niche that we don’t cover. Our experience has been that refacing can be nearly as much expense as new cabinetry. For a small increment in expense, you can often get a much better return on your investment – not only financially but functionally as well. The opportunity to redesign a kitchen should lead to better kitchen function.
I can’t leave work to let tradesmen in and out. Can you meet them at my home?
Yes. As part of our Stressless Remodeling Service, we happily coordinate seeing workers in & out, deliveries of appliances, and anything else that a smooth installation process would require.
Can I keep my existing flooring?
Yes. We often work around existing flooring. However, the existing flooring may not accommodate the design changes you desire. If you are considering flooring as well, it would be wise to arrange a consultation before you install it.
I have a period-style home, and I’m afraid new cabinets won’t go with the existing architecture. Do you have an appropriate style to compliment it?
Yes. Designing for period homes takes research and knowledge of the appropriate architecture. This is a task we have tackled before and are happy to do again.
My home isn’t built yet. Can you design from my blueprints?
Yes. While we enjoy the direct homeowner contact we have in a remodeling project, we are more than happy to assist you with your new construction project as well.
I don’t like my current kitchen, but I don’t know what I want. Where do I begin?
If you aren’t yet ready to sit down with our design staff, we would suggest you go to your local newsstand and browse through the Home & Design section. Start a scrapbook of photos you find appealing. Also, talk to your friends that may have recently remodeled – they can be a wealth of information. And finally, don’t be afraid to come see us – we won’t bite.
