Bradenton Bathroom Design: A Dual Renovation
This finished project turned two tired 1980s bathrooms into a cohesive, multi‑generational home solution. The homeowners faced a common challenge: adapting their Bradenton bathroom design to suit a multi-generational household. Their home needed updates to accommodate grandparents, adult children, and young grandchildren all under one roof. Although the talented homeowners completed much of the work themselves, they turned to Duncan’s Creative Kitchens for the design layout, cabinetry, and material selection. As a result, both baths now feel larger, store more, and work for grandparents, adult children, and grandkids.
The Before
Smart Solutions for the Master Bath
First, let’s look at the Master Bath. Since the homeowners (the grandparents) use this space daily, accessibility and storage were top priorities. Originally, a solid wall enclosed the shower, making the 5ft x 8ft room feel incredibly small. Therefore, we removed that framed wall. By installing clear glass shower doors, the room immediately felt twice as large.
Furthermore, we improved the shower’s function significantly. This Bradenton bathroom design comes equipped with a corner seat, a convenient niche, and a handheld showerhead to go along with the traditional shower head. For future mobility needs, matching grab bars were added.
Storage was another hurdle. The old vanity had an unused makeup seating area. We replaced this with usable cabinetry. However, the toilet’s location blocked the drawers of a standard cabinet. To solve this, we used an open base cabinet for accessible linen storage. Finally, we installed corner wall cabinets on both sides of the mirror, maximizing storage without crowding the room.
Functionality for the Hall Bath
Next is the Hall Bath, designed for the adult children and grandkids. Because toddlers need baths, retaining the bathtub was essential. However, the family still desired better storage.
We maintained the vanity’s asymmetrical shape to maximize counter space on one side of the sink. Additionally, we utilized vertical space. A corner upper cabinet now serves as a medicine cabinet. We also added a matching storage cabinet above the toilet. These smart additions provide ample room for linens without sacrificing floor space.
A Cohesive Earthy Aesthetic
Finally, the design choices tie both rooms together perfectly. Both spaces feature StarMark Cabinetry’s Maple Roseville door style in a soft, Mushroom paint. This taupe finish pairs beautifully with the Cambria Berwyn quartz countertops.
To complete the look, we selected 12×24 taupe tiles for the walls and a multi-toned pebble tile for the shower floor. Oil-rubbed bronze fixtures and accessories add a warm, contrasting finish.
