A Clean Start: A His & Hers Bathroom Remodel

His New Shower

This recent bathroom remodel transformed two separate, outdated bathrooms into a cohesive, contemporary “his and hers” sanctuary for their Bradenton home. The original spaces were cluttered, dated, and cramped, with a fully enclosed, claustrophobic shower in his bathroom and a short, makeshift shower enclosure over a 4ft tub in hers. The goal was to create light, clean, and easy-to-maintain spaces that shared a style but maintained individual personalities.

Creating a Cohesive, Contemporary Look

Our clients wanted a sleek, modern feel with some unique touches. We achieved a cohesive aesthetic by using the same materials throughout both rooms. For the floors and shower walls, we chose 12×24 marble-look porcelain tiles, which are both beautiful and easy to clean. His shower features the tiles in a horizontal subway pattern, while hers uses a vertical stacked pattern. This subtle difference gives each room its own distinct character.

Both vanities feature vanity cabinets in a charcoal gray finish, his in a modern slab door style, while she chose a more transitional shaker door. The white acrylic solid surface countertops with integrated sinks and backsplashes were a key decision, eliminating grout and caulk lines for a seamless, easy-to-clean surface.

Personalized Design for Both Spaces

To meet each of their individual requests, we designed their personal spaces with unique elements. He wanted a sleek, minimalist shower, so we installed a frameless, clear glass enclosure with a hinged door. She wanted to keep a traditional 5ft tub, which required a semi-frameless clear glass enclosure with a brushed chrome frame for easy access. To further differentiate the spaces, we added unique framed mirrors in each room. The result is two bathrooms that feel connected yet perfectly reflect the style and needs of each person. The end product is a stunning, functional, and stress-free space that they will love for years to come.
