From Dated to Dazzling: A Bradenton Guest Bathroom Remodel on the Braden River
Repeat clients returned to Duncan’s Creative Kitchens with a clear goal: transform their dated guest bathroom into a space that felt classic, clean, and welcoming for company. We previously helped them reimagine their kitchen with a contemporary flair, and now it was time to bring that same thoughtful design into the guest bath.
Designing for Elegance and Storage
The original bathroom worked but just barely. A dark vanity and limited storage made the space feel cramped and uninspired. Fortunately, the existing tile flooring extended beneath the old vanity, giving us flexibility to change the design and introduce a furniture-style piece with open shelving.
The Before
We started by eliminating the busy, striped wallpaper, opting for a clean painted wall finish to instantly brighten the space. We installed StarMark inset cabinetry in the Maple Gillette doorstyle, finished in a crisp white paint. Finial hinges add a tailored touch, while the open bottom shelf provides space for towels and bins, which is perfect for guests. This design not only looks custom but also allows for accessible storage, as you can see in the photos.
The Perfect Finishing Touches
No remodel is complete without high-quality surfaces and lighting. The Cambria New Quay quartz countertop adds subtle elegance with its soft veining and durable surface. This countertop provides a beautiful, natural-looking pattern that is easy to maintain, a perfect choice for a busy guest bath.
To complete the look, we designed a tailored mirror to match the vanity’s style, complete with crown molding to tie into the room’s elegant aesthetic. In addition, the homeowner sourced their own brushed nickel sconces, which now flank the mirror and cast a warm, flattering light.
This entire project showcases how focused updates can dramatically change a room’s entire personality. This remodeled guest bathroom now feels intentional and inviting for company visiting this home on the Braden River. Painted walls replaced the striped wallpaper, creating a calm backdrop for the cabinetry and lighting. The vanity’s furniture-style legs elevate the design, literally and visually, while maintaining functionality.
This project is a great example of how small spaces can make a big impression. Whether you’re hosting family or friends, a well-designed guest bath shows you care about every detail.
